Unfortunately, from the age of 40 onwards, the crystalline lens loses its flexibility and no longer bulges sufficiently to bring objects into focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6f49cd2c-046c-41a7-8e78-ee2c2178b726\" style=\"font-size:18px\">The eye no longer perceives close-up objects clearly and accurately. Images are blurred. The near image is formed at the back of the retina.
